Heaven Or Hell? Your Choice!

Many religions talk endlessly about the consequences of the choices you make. Presumably, good choices help you get into Heaven, the place of eternal reward. Poor choices land you in Hell, a place of eternal torment, fire and brimstone. While I agree that our choices take us to various places, I don't believe these places are the be-all-end-all of existence. Rather, I believe both Heaven and Hell are present in the world today and that we all live in one state or the other (or in various degrees of them).

So, what exactly is Hell? In it's most basic definition, Hell is the state of separation. Think back to every negative experience you've ever had on earth. Maybe someone hurt you or you had a fight or some other unpleasent or painful experience. How did you feel? Sad? Angry? Alone? At these moments, you are not connected to anyone or anything (except maybe your own pain), especially not to God. Even the Bible talks about how man (specifically Adam and Eve) chose to be separated from God and in doing so led the way for all manner of pain, torment and problems. If that's not Hell, I don't know what is.

Then what is Heaven? Heaven would be the place of Unity...of Peace...of Oneness. True Heaven is the place of Love. A place without judgment. Think about those times in your life when you have been full of love. Did you feel connected? Hopeful? Empowered? Heaven is a state of being in your best. It is a place of understanding the Universe and your place in it.

Let me ask you a question. Do you truly believe we end up in one specific place for the rest of eternity? How boring! How unproductive! Life is about awareness! Opportunity! Growth! Heaven and Hell are just places to explore on this endless progression, and we make this choice on a daily basis. Where you end up truly is up to you
