Forty Days of Light: Day Eight Meditation

Today as I continue my journey toward connecting to Mother Earth, I am drawn to the more feminine aspects of God--the Divine Feminine.
What I refer to is those attributes typically ascribed to women--nurturing, caring, providing comfort and protection, etc. In our world today, we are largely taught to ignore our more feminine traits and develop the more masculine ones of competition and fighting--which is supposedly the natural order of things. Because this masculine side has been emphasized, our world is terribly out of balance. We pay a heavy price in terms of loss of resources, wealth and overall well-being (and then we wonder why things are so bad!).

It is no longer about competition and fighting! It is not possible to bring about a change to these world problems through more fighting! As Martin Luther King, Jr. stated very profoundly:
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
It is time to re-balance earth by emphasizing the Divine Feminine! Instead of fighting each other and competing for resources, it is time to nurture one another! Feed yourself, but also feed your neighbor! Shelter the homeless! Nurse the sick! Take care of the needs you see within your own communities! When we work to build instead of destroy, Mother Earth does not need to spend time healing herself but can instead work to provide for us all!

Today's Prayer For Light:
Source of all that gives life,
We ask you to make us aware of our feminine gifts--our caring, our nurturing, our healing--so we may be able to use them to heal our planet. Show us the needs around us which we can take care of. Help us see the resources we can use to take care of those needs. We desire to be instruments of healing in the world.
